Marine opening challenges
Curved coamings, shallow returns, and salt air change both product and mount. Confirm depth before assuming inside mount.
- Portlights and small cabin windows
- Salon picture windows
- Head / galley privacy openings
- Flybridge / enclosure openings (often not blind-friendly)
- Shallow frames → outside mount common

The patterns above are a starting point — your specific floorplan and any builder upgrades can shift them, so always measure. Measure each opening's width at the top, middle, and bottom and height at left, center, and right. For an inside mount, report the exact opening and the factory deducts about ½" for clearance; for an outside mount, add 1.5–2" of overlap per side. Our measuring & installation guide has step-by-step instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I put wood blinds on a boat?
Real wood warps quickly in marine humidity. Use vinyl mini or PVC faux wood instead.
Do standard house sizes fit boats?
Rarely. Measure every opening. Custom cut is the point for marine interiors.
Do you install on boats?
We ship product nationwide. Marine install is typically handled by your yard or interior tech — our on-site install service is DFW homes only.
