Blind measurement is best when you already know the finished product dimensions — common for outside mount or when you have already subtracted allowances yourself. Window measurement subtracts ½" from the width you enter for inside-mount sizing; height is used as entered. If you are unsure, measure inside the opening, choose Window measurement, and enter those numbers — we apply the deduction for you.

47.5" is on the builder popular-width list. Typical inside opening is ~48" — a 4-0 picture or double-hung. The size chart’s dining-room row is 34.5"–46.5" at 60"; 47.5×60 is that same 5-0 drop one inch wider, the stocked SKU when the opening is a true ~48". Still one horizontal, not a slider.
~48" inside opening → 47.5" finished blind. ~60" glass → this drop. A 47" opening on the chart maps to 46.5", not 47.5".
Dining rooms
4-0 wide, 5-0 tall is a common dining / breakfast-room picture. 60" hits the sill without pooling on the buffet.
Front rooms and small pictures
One headrail at 47.5". Wider than the 44.5" living-room SKU; narrower than 57.5" casement pictures.
Kitchens with a wide sash
Over a sink or pass-through, 60" is often the right drop even when the width is 4-0.
60" is the dining / picture height. Living-room glass at this width is often 72" — that is 47.5×72. If the longest height measurement is past ~64", do not force 60".
